Tarr-Nar-Mal was a Cerean bounty hunter and a member of the Snatchers.

Biography[]

Early life[]

Tarr-Nar-Mal was born on Cerea several years before the Clone Wars. His Force-sensitivity developed late in life and he was rejected for training by the Jedi Order due to being too old. After the fall of the Jedi Order, Tarr decided to apply his nascent skills towards becoming a Jedi hunter, offering his services to the newly established Galactic Empire.[1]

Capturing Skywalker[]

By 5 ABY, Tarr had become a member of the Snatchers. In that year, he was part of Cad Bane's team hired to capture Luke Skywalker and deliver him to Lady Dulcea Greejatus. Upon apprehending Skywalkr on Dantooine, Tarr was entrusted with keeping Skywalker's lightsaber so the Jedi could not use it to escape.[1]

Upon arriving on Chommell Minor, Tarr delivered Skywalker's lightsaber to Lieutenant Halmers, who was in the process of leading a captured Shara Bey to her cell. Bey chose that moment to attempt to escape, tripping Tarr and taking out Halmers. Just as Halmer's stormtroopers were about to corner her, Tarr used Skywalker's lightsaber to cut them and Halmers down, before forcing Bey to follow him and help him locate Skywalker, whom Tarr wanted to teach him the ways of the Force.[1]

After finding Skywalker and his sister Leia, Tarr forced them to come with him on his ship, taking them to Naboo as he foresaw that Skywalker had an important role to play on the planet. While en route, Tarr informed Skywalker of his history and desire to learn the ways of the Force. Skywalker agreed if only to distract the bounty hunter, using it as an opportunity to take back his lightsaber along with Tarr's own lightsaber, which he gave to Leia. The twins then took control of Tarr's ship and confined the Cerean while they dealt with the Empire's assault on Naboo. After landing on the planet, Skywalker returned ownership of the ship to Tarr, and the Cerean bounty hunter agreed to leave, conceding defeat and leaving the Jedi to his own devices.[1]

Imperial Sith War[]

When Darth Vorath and his Sith made themselves known, Tarr-Nar was approached for a spot in their ranks but the Cerean declined, preferring to make a profit for himself then join some religious cult. Nonetheless, his skills were nonetheless valued as the Sith waged war against the New Republic and the Jedi. Ultimately however, Tarr-Nar met his end on Mandalore in 25 ABY when he was shot through the head by Boba Fett.

Behind the scenes[]

In older versions of Tarr-Nar-Mal's backstory, he was originally an Inquisitor before becoming a bounty hunter. While writing From the Ashes, DarthVorath decided to excise this information.
