I will not send an errand boy to complete this task. He defeated the incursion at Sharlissia and crushed the Sith at Barkhesh. He has served the League well and has earned the trust of our people. I will choose no other.
—Dut Kol to Jaiyah Bramarq about selecting Tallum Meith to lead the LDA fleet at Kinyen, 12 ABY

Tallum Meith (48 BBY – ) was a Gran male from the planet Kinyen who served as a naval officer in the League Defense Armada, the naval forces of the Independent League of Free Systems. Unusually interested in military affairs for a member of his usually pacifistic species, Meith earned a naval officer's education from the Corporate Sector Authority before becoming a ranking officer in the navy of Sluis Van. Following the defeat of Gar Lat and the formation of the ILFS in 3 ABY, Meith, recognized by Dut Kol for his grasp of naval warfare, was appointed one of the LDA's first ten flag officers; in 5 ABY, he was promoted straight to Fleet Admiral. By 12 ABY, he was commander of the Western Reaches Reaction Force, one of the largest units in the LDA, and his seniority placed him below only Kol, the Justiciar, and the Chief Officer by rank.

He came to fame after defeating an incursion into ILFS space by an Imperial warlord in the Sharlissia system in 7 ABY and for his victory over the Infinite Sith Empire over the planet Barkhesh shortly after the ILFS' Declaration of Retaliation. He became one of Dut Kol's most trusted military advisors and subordinates, and was tasked with commanding LDA forces sent to assist the Galactic Federation in the defense of his own homeworld, which was being targeted for conquest by the Sith. His contributions to the allied victory at Kinyen resulted in his promotion to Grand Admiral, the first of its kind in the LDA.

Personality and traits[]

What Meith lacked in sociality he made up for in intellect. He was curious about military affairs from a young age, unlike many of his kin, and after beginning his studies in the Corporate Sector was acknowledged by his superiors for his seeming natural grasp of strategy and acumen in command. By the time he had come to offer his services to Dut Kol's armada, he was recognized for his superior intellect, grasp of naval affairs, and, something many of his colleagues lacked, his sensitivity to culture.

During the Second Supreme War Council in 12 ABY, Dut Kol claimed that Tallum Meith was one of the four best admirals in the war against the Sith, the others being Warlord Balmus Cail, Grand Admiral Gial Ackbar, and Grand Admiral Gilad Pellaeon.
