Taaku was a Rodian male detective and lieutenant in New Republic Intelligence.
Biography[]
By 40 ABY, Taaku had been assigned as Captain Wallen Nix's lieutenant, replacing the rogue operative Xemer. In that year, he and Nix investigated the murder of Loth Ja'far, with Taaku comforting Ja'far's fiancée Myra Kishanti. When Vuren Rackus was murdered not long after, Taaku and Nix's investigation led them to Mandalore, where they were able to deduce Ja'far and Rackus's murderer to be Kadar, a rogue Mandalorian with a vendetta against Black Sun.[1]
When the two detectives brought their findings to Director Heol Girdun, they were denied permission to travel to Odryn, where Kadar's next target was located. Instead, General Garik Loran offered to help them and took them with him to Odryn, where they were confronted by Scav and the Lok Revenants. After both Kadar and Scav had been dealt with, Taaku and Loran's team returned to Coruscant, where they were arrested by Girdun, though they were later able to escape imprisonment due to a riot instigated by the Sith apprentice Prodd.
While Nix ended up joining the Resistance in the struggle against Darth Taral, Taaku remained with New Republic Intelligence. After the Battle of Mandalore, he partnered with Nix in investigating the Malvis Cabal's dealings on Coruscant. After an encounter with a Xylini, Taaku decided to stay out of further operations involving the Malvis Cabal while Nix continued working with the Resistance to expose the criminal organization.[2][3]
