TZ-948 was a T-series military strategic analysis and tactics droid with masculine programming that served under General Yosip Zagoonga of the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the final days of the Clone Wars. Intended as a temporary replacement after the super tactical droid Porax was destroyed at the Battle of Hosnian Prime in 19 BBY, TZ-948 held the rank of commander and was second-in-command of Separatist forces at the Siege of Quadan VI.
The tactical droid was later at the Battle of Lagobah, where he escaped the destruction of the Pride of Frenzan in a C-9979 landing craft and crash-landed on the surface of Lagobah. The Clone Wars ended shortly after and TZ-948 went into low power mode, but was reactivated a few months later due to a power surge.
Unable to contact anyone and unaware of the war's end, TZ-948 gathered numerous battle droids and ground vehicles and eventually discovered that General Zagoonga was working with Jedi Padawan Jedaana Lokka. Regarding Zagoonga as a traitor, TZ-948 assaulted the Lagobah base but was unsuccessful and retreated. The Lagobah rebel cell then went after him, destroying most of his forces. TZ-948 and Yosip Zagoonga fought in hand-to-hand combat, but Zagoonga emerged victorious after he removed the tactical droid's head. Zagoonga then used the droid to signal the battle droids to stop attacking.
