TC-14 was a feminine-programmed TC-series protocol droid under the ownership of the Trade Federation shipping cartel during the Invasion of Utapau in 22 BBY. During the Federation’s occupation of Utapau, TC-14 was on the planet as a personal assistant to Federation Viceroy Nute Gunray. While wandering an alleyway in Ogana, the planet’s capital city, the droid was captured by members of the Veermok Resistance and reprogrammed to gather information about the Federation.
Biography[]
Sometime prior to the Invasion of Utapau, TC-14 was purchased or constructed by the Trade Federation and was given feminine programming, though by the time the invasion began she spoke only Neimoidian. Her duties included etiquette and protocol, specifically in the way of diplomatic missions. When Jedi Master Jard Dooku and Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi boarded the Federation command ship during the initial blockade of Utapau as Republic ambassadors, TC-14 greeted them and brought them to a reception room.[1]
After leaving Dooku and Kenobi, TC-14 reported to Viceroy Nute Gunray and his head adviser Rune Haako that she believed the ambassadors were Jedi. Gunray ordered her to distract the two and brought them drinks, though she fled fearing destruction when the Federation began to flood the room with poisonous gas in an assassination attempt against the Jedi.[1]
During the Federation's subjugation of Utapau, members of the Veermok Resistance, an organized resistance movement founded by citizens of the capital city of Ogana to forcibly oppose the Federation's rule, found TC-14 wandering the streets seemingly dazed and confused. The droid was taken to the Veermok Resistance headquarters where Lieutenant Chamberlyn, the military leader of the resistance, planned to reprogram the droid so it could gather information on the Federation for the resistance movement.[2]
