My, my. Aren't you awfully informed? Look, hun; maybe this... what did you call it? The Force? Maybe it gives me a teeny-tiny tip here or there. But I make my own luck.
—Syala Vikin to Rey

Syala Vikin was a female Human-Zeltron hybrid that toured the galaxy as a professional gambler. A renowned card shark, Syala made a name for herself on the gambling circuit all across the galaxy, from the Core Worlds to the farthest reaches of the Outer Rim. Aside from her gambling career, Syala was a small-time infochant, selling information she gathered from her travels to the highest bidder. Unbeknownst to practically everyone, Vikin used her latent Force-sensitivity to aid her in her gambling endeavors and was a key part of her success.

Syala was the owner of the Serendipity.

Biography[]

Personality and traits[]

Physical description[]

Despite being a hybrid, Syala showed few traits from her Zeltron parent, having little resemblance to anything but a human woman. Her skin was fair and she had cool steely-grey colored eyes. Her hair was reddish-brown and sported a number of thin braids. Syala was pug-nosed but not unattractive. Both of her ear lobes were pierced with a round earring bearing black pearls. A vibrant, colorful tattoo of a panther was located at her left shoulder; this tattoo was unique in the sense that it could move and prowl around her body.

She was fond of comfortable, luxurious attire and preferred silk above all else. She was also fond of jewelry, adorning herself with numerous rings fashioned out of precious metals; each ring bore a black pearl, her favorite gemstone.

Syala kept a concealed hold-out blaster pistol for self-defense.

Skills and abilities[]

Relationships[]

Lorn Graven[]

Fancies himself a playboy and the best card player the galaxy's seen in years. He's got an ego the size of a freight cruiser, that one, and a wicked mean streak to boot. Slippery bastard, too. Watch him closely.
—Syala Vikin

Rix Cardar[]

Poor old Rix should call it quits. It's a young man's game these days. And who wants to hire someone who's likely to hawk off your cargo for drugs? Trust me; he might be cheap, but there's a reason why. You can do better.
—Syala's low opinion of Rix

Roland Vesper[]

You know the type: the mysterious hard-ass. Doesn't talk much, but then again... maybe he doesn't need to. He's got a successful track record that stretches from here to the Core. Don't expect to cut a deal if he's on your tail... or cut a break. If he's after you, I'd write up a will, friend.
—Syala's opinion of Roland
