Suwo Tolp was a male Quarren Jedi Sentinel who served the Galactic Republic during the New Sith Wars. He was renowned for his skill at demolitions and sabotage, but was most famous as the master of Tirien Kal-Di.
Biography[]
Suwo trained to Knighthood under Jhor Ghees. He excelled at skills unusual among Jedi, including infiltration and exfiltration, mechanics, and demolitions; fellow Sentinels joked that, to match the Warrior Masters of the Jedi Guardians and Sage Masters of the Jedi Consulars, Suwo should be dubbed "Demolitions Master". As a young man, Suwo saved the life of Sorin Ruy'the; the two were friends thereafter, and Suwo occasionally sought information and tips from Sorin.
Suwo and Tirien sabotage a building
In 1,401 BBY, Suwo visited the Jedi Temple and observed the annual Apprentice Tournament. He selected a skillful Initiate, Tirien Kal-Di, as his Padawan. The two served for the next decade together; Tirien learned to speak Quarren and picked up many of his master's skills. Suwo encouraged Tirien to broaden his horizons with other Jedi, and was not resentful when his apprentice began to eclipse his skill in both lightsaber combat and the Force. Indeed, Suwo encouraged Tirien to study with other Jedi when possible, knowing they could expand Tirien's repertoire of abilities and help Tirien grow into what Suwo felt was his enormous potential.
In 1,391 BBY, Suwo and Tirien were sent on a mission to root out a suspected Candorian Plague center. After Sorin informed them that it was located on Thisspias, the two successfully destroyed the plague canisters, but Suwo was injured in a duel with an Askajian Sith, though he ultimately killed her. They proceeded through the base and confronted the Trandoshan Sith Lord Zygro. In the ensuing duel, the already wounded Suwo struggled to keep up with Zygro and his apprentice. When Tirien was knocked down, Zygro quickly removed Suwo from the fight, amputating both of Suwo's hands before ripping part of his head off. Suwo died instantly.
Tirien went on to win the duel. Knowing he could not extract the body from the cave, he instead tried to compose his master's remains reverently before setting off an explosion which brought the cave roof down and incinerated Suwo's body. He did, however, take Suwo's lightsaber, which he retained in the years that followed.
