The post of Superintendent of Finance of the Confederate Systems was one of three executive offices created by the Congress of the Confederation in 2 BBY. The only person known to hold the office was former Separatist Nute Gunray, a master financer.

The Bank of the Confederation was chartered on 0 BBY by the Congress of the Confederation, at the prodding of Superintendent of Finance Nute Gunray. This was thus the nation's first de facto central bank.
