Old Republic era

The Sunrunner robes were a set of Jedi robes specially fitted and created for the Jedi Weapon Master Soren Sunrunner by the Tarisian noble family House of Sunrunner for use in the Great Hyperspace War. The robes became a treasured possession of the House, and were worn by the Force-sensitive members of the family or stored in the vaults at the Sunrunner Palace.

Though they physically appeared to be standard Jedi robes, favored by members of the Order for their durability and simplicity, the Sunrunner robes were unique in that the materials from which they were made, namely Belsavis Vine-silk reinforced with a cortosis weave, were expensive and rather rare. Because of this, the robes were both comfortable to wear and a significant defense against energy weapons, including lightsabers.

Suri Sunrunner, the Jedi Apostate, wore these robes during her tenure as a Jedi Commander in the Mandalorian Wars. Despite laying aside the robes during her period of self-imposed exile after the war's close, she eventually donned the robes once again during her travels with the Sith Lord Karros.

Behind the scenes[]

The Sunrunner robes are a tribute to the Qel-Droma robes from Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, just as the House of Sunrunner is in some ways a tribute to the Qel-Droma family.
