Keep up the fight, even if you know you won't get to experience what you are fighting for.
—Sun Tzu

Sun Tzu was a human male Imperial Navy commando and later Emperor's Royal Guard in the Galactic Empire. Eventually, he became an Imperial Sovereign Protector, the top rank in the Royal Guard. After Palpatine's death over Endor, Sun served Grand Admiral Thrawn as a guard. After his death, Sun worked for various Imperial factions and later returned to the side of reborn Palpatine and received the title of Emperor's Reach for his loyalty and skill. Following the Emperor's final death, Sun fled back to his homeworld of Myrkr and created the Myrkr Protectorate, which became a state of the Imperial Remnant.

He was a Force-sensitive, though was not very powerful. After his Force potential was noticed, he temporarily became an Imperial Sith Acolyte. During that time, he was able to hone his Force skills more, but not by much, which was why he was transferred shortly afterwards to the Emperor's Royal Guard. Sun was an above average marksman and had some flight training, which he used a lot more after the fall of the Empire. Though as a guardsman, he was an expert in melee combat, and used a vibro spear in combat (standard issue for guardsmen).

Throughout his career, he was extremely loyal to the Empire, and was called an Imperial ultranationalist. Despite that, after the final death of the Emperor, he decided not to serve the Imperial Remnant and instead took the units under his command to Myrkr, his homeworld, and founded the Myrkr Protectorate; though it was a protectorate of the Remnant. He was the premier of it until his death. During that time, he married a former New Republic Security Service officer and had a son named Han Tzu.

Biography[]

Early life[]

Sun was born to Lao Tzu and an unknown woman on Myrkr, in the Inner Rim Territories, in 24 BBY. Lao was an Imperial Missile Launcher Trooper in the Stormtrooper Corps, and was away on deployment most of the time, though spent as much time as he could with Sun. In 7 BBY, his father was killed in action on Reytha, and one year later Sun joined the Imperial Navy to follow his father's footsteps.

Naval Service[]

This is no easy task.
—Sun Tzu

It was determined by instructors at the Bastion Military Academy that he was good at combat, and proved to be mediocre in flight training and programming. Because of that, rather than being a TIE pilot or an Imperial Navy crewman, he was made an Imperial Navy commando. Sun trained a the Bastion academy and did well, receiving the rank of sergeant upon graduating. He was assigned to Omikron Squadron.

Their first assignment was to Felucia, where they were assigned to the Felucia Imperial garrison. There, Sun and his unit had to fight native warriors and several Jedi which visited the planet. He noted that it was not an easy task. Sun was appointed as the squadron leader by the base commander there, after the previous one was killed. When a Sith assassin came to find a Jedi fugitive on the planet, he requested the aid of Imperial troops from the base commander. Sun and his unit followed him and held off several militiamen of Jedi General Rahm Kota that followed the assassin there. The fugitive was killed by the assassin in the mean time.

Eventually they were rotated off Felucia and sent to the Jedi Temple, as part of the garrison there. When a group of scavengers hired by a Jedi Master raided the Temple, in hopes of finding a certain holocron, Sun and his squad fought them off along side Imperial Senate Sentinels. His squad mates witnessed him using Force powers, and reported them to an officer. Word eventually reached Darth Vader, who placed Sun into the Imperial Sith Acolyte program.

Sith Acolyte[]

Sun Tzu trained on Kamino along with other Force users as a Sith Acolyte. They wore red armor and used Lightsaber Pikes. During training, it was realized that he was much better at melee combat than the Force. Because of that, he was recruited into the Emperor's Royal Guard and sent to the Yinchorr military academy.

Guard Training[]

He was subjugated to training as a Royal Guard. His skill allowed him to make it through the first brutal parts of training, in which many of his comrades perished. One day, Vader arrived and decided to spar the best cadet out of their class. He proceeded to brutally murder him in the squall, their arena. Many were shocked and disgusted, though Sun understood the lesson perfectly. From then on, he trained even harder and tried to become the best. Sun was assigned a partner, as everyone else did, named Alum Frost.
