The Manipulated War began in 3,936 BBY. The Manipulated Wars, were created by the Sith, who bred star system's lack of faith in the Republic into hatred. After all the battles, wars and destruction most planets went through, it is lucky that any star systems stayed in the Republic let alone most of them.
The First Year (3,936 BBY)[]
The first battle of this war was held over and on the planet Ekoshii. The Republic forces gained, what they thought at that time to be, a victory. It wasn't as a few hours after their supposed victory, the Separatists simultaneously attacked Byss, Tund, Tatooine and Nar Shaddaa. The defense of Byss and Tatooine were successful for the Republic, but Nar Shaddaa's surface was bombed by the Separatist fleet and Tund was taken by the Separatist forces. The overall size of their armies and fleets, left the Republic citizenry feeling somewhat fearful. Their army was not what it used to be, so it left the senate very few choices. The senate discussed over whether or not they should rebuild their army, which, in the end, came to the conclusion of rebuilding their army. A massive amount of shipyards, military training centers and vehicle construction factories were spread out across Republic space, in order to speed up the process of refilling the army. At the same time the Separatists were launching quite a lot of strikes against Republic planets, and winning most of them. The simultaneous strike on Tralus and Talus, gave a bitter sting to the Republic as the planets were one of the few safe places left for the Republic. They were also homes to two different Jedi Enclaves. In response, Admiral Cede led a small battle group to Rodia, in the hopes of destroying a barely defended shipyard. To his utter dismay, it was just a trap from which his battle group barely escaped from. The Separatists attacked three different planets within the course of a few days, but only defeated their enemies at Onderon. The Republic led three different retaliatory attacks, which resulted in only more death and destruction. By the end of the first year, the Separatists had stepped the war up a notch, by attacking at least eight times and conquering Corellia.
The Second Year (3.935 BBY)[]
The second year was a sort of happy year for the Republic as their army had reached maximum limits, allowing the Republic to easily defend its home planets and use a larger force in its own attacks. The year started off with the liberation of Corellia. This was considered a major victory for the Republic, as they had stopped the Separatists from gaining a vital planet in the sense of hyperspace travel. The Republic lead many offenses against the Separatists, during the middle of the year, even killing their leader during the battle of Neimoida but that was unknown to the Republic. The Separatists leader was replaced by an unnamed figure. The Republic soon was brought to the defensive when the Separatists started attacking various planets in the Mid Rim/ Outer Rim area. It was about this time when one of the most notorious battles in the war was fought, known as the Human Genocide of Nar Shaddaa. The Separatists lead two consecutive battles on Geonosis to try to win back the planet. At the end of the year, the war slowed down significantly.
