Stimtech was a company founded by the Human ex-slicer Cassan Ashiq that specialized in experimental computer technology geared towards giving organic beings alternative ways to manipulate data. The company was relatively obscure until it introduced the Visual Tactile Interface (VTI), which quickly became popular on information-savvy worlds. Stimtech enjoyed a renaissance during the beginning years of the new republic (covering up its earlier involvement with the Empire), until Cassan and his Board were killed in the Stimtech HQ bombing, which was orchestrated by the Luddite-extremist known as Sraali'l. After the bombing, Stimtech dissolved, but its innovations lived on.
