The Stellan Mercy Foundation was a non-profit organization founded some time after the Battle of Yavin. Its purpose was to rescue Stellan children who were ejected into space by their pacifist people as unfit for Stellan society and arrange for safe, loving homes for those children. The Foundation maintained a small navy of freighters and other ships in the Stellan system and an orphanage on Coruscant, with smaller satellite facilities in the Outer and Inner Rims.
During the Second Imperial Civil War, adoptions dropped off markedly while the One Sith ruled Coruscant. Malleigh Rason was a Stellan rescued by the Foundation.
