Staven Naxus was a Human male who served in the Galactic Empire's Navy as the captain of the ISD Vindicator under then-Colonel Ralia Arryn. He stayed by her side, transitioning into the First Order with her and the rest of the personnel, until her self-sacrifice in 35 ABY. He then retreated to Naboo with his family and the surviving personnel and started anew until his peaceful death in 50 ABY.
Biography[]
Early life[]
Naxus was born on Naboo in 40 BBY, twenty-one years before the Declaration of the New Order. His family belonged to the upper class and he was raised to enter politics or the Republic military. Staven entered the Prefsbelt IV Naval Academy in 24 BBY and served during the Clone Wars for a year before the Galactic Empire came to power. His old commanding officer sacrificed himself in a battle, and a then-lieutenant Naxus promised to never let that happen again. The war was an eye-opening experience for Naxus and he stayed in Imperial service to protect the galaxy from conflict repeating itself.
Service and death[]
After joining the Empire, Naxus spent years rising the ranks before being promoted to a command position aboard the Gozanti-class light cruiser Clawstrike. He served as the captain for two years before being transferred to the ISD Vindicator. In 1 ABY, the newly promoted Ralia Arryn became the top officer on the Destroyer. Naxus and Arryn developed a good friendly relationship which only strengthened over the years.
As the Empire fell in 4 ABY and later dissolved into remnants, Naxus remained by Arryn's side. He joined the Queluhan Nebula Imperial remnant and assisted her in leading her own Remnant from 7 ABY to 12 ABY. After the crew of the Vindicator was forced into the Unknown Regions and began starving, the captain did his best to find safe routes and steer the ship away from danger. When the ship was rescued by the First Order in 27 ABY, he was offered a promotion to Admiral but denied it in order to stay with Arryn.
During his years in service, he began dating Sheeva Rinney, a young communications officer on the Vindicator, and married her while in the Unknown Regions. They didn't have children initially as they didn't want them to be raised in constant danger, but eventually after their rescue by the First Order they adopted two children, Rico and Fiona, in 28 ABY.
After Arryn's death, which he witnessed from his escape pod, Naxus assumed command of the surviving officers. He narrowly evaded arrest by the victorious Resistance forces and eventually retired from the remains of the First Order, taking his family with him to settle on Naboo in 37 ABY. He visited Coruscant to find the Arryn family grave plot on the cemetery and placed a Posthumous Black Laurel for Service to the Empire between her parents' graves as a last honor to Arryn. He and Sheeva raised the two children in peace and prosperity in the outskirts of Theed. He died of old age in 50 ABY, surrounded by his family and friends.
Personality and traits[]
Naxus was quiet and introverted, but caring and respectful of those close to him. He was incredibly attentive to his personnel and his family and was ready to do anything for them. He was tolerant and soft, but stern when necessary.
