Star Wars Faraway is a Star Wars fan fiction project created and written by Luke Madison. A successor to his previous two projects, it combines and elaborates on character, story, and universe concepts developed during and between previous productions. It is set over a thousand years after A New Hope, and while no longer intended to provide a conclusive ending to the original Expanded Universe (as it was originally), the story is set primarily within it's confines and considers some unpublished works, especially Supernatural Encounters: The Trial and Transformation of Arhul Hextrophon, canon.

The new galaxy[]
Faraway is set approximately 1,000 years after the events of Star Wars: Legacy Volume 2. While events within that difference in time are generally remembered as the Thousand-Year Peace, several moments of notable import are assumed to have occurred within stories set within Faraway.
- Galactic Empress Marasiah Fel had successfully completed the galactic-wide communications network, allowing for the greater development of the Outer Rim Territories and the movement of the overall galactic frontier towards the Unknown Regions.
- The Galactic Federation Triumvirate entered political tensions with the Chiss Ascendancy, who demanded either total governance of the Unknown Regions (at least in name), or to be represented by a triumvir. These events nearly escalated to open war, where it not for the intercession of a certain Imperial Knight and their apprentice, who brokered for the creation of a separate-but-equal polity, what became known as the Pentarchy. Nonetheless, expansion and development of the Unknown Regions proved a difficult task not only politically, but logistically, and it was the center of much tension in the years leading up to the Fauthian devastation.
