This page is for users to place requests for moderator rights (RFMR). There are four types of moderators on Star Wars Fanon.

  • A Chat Moderator is a user with moderator privileges on the Star Wars Fanon Discord server (formerly Special:Chat prior to the wiki's migration to the UCP). Chat Moderators may kick and ban users from the server for a specified length of time, interact with other admin team members in protected channels, and invoke certain bot commands.
  • A Discussion Moderator has the ability to delete and edit blog and article comments, moderate forums and Discussions, and moderate the Discord server (all Discussions Moderators are also Chat Moderators by default).
  • A Content Moderator has the ability to protect, delete, and restore pages and files, and has rollback rights.
  • The blanket term Moderator is a user with the combined privileges of all three other moderators. As such, they are empowered to moderate discussion forums, kick and ban users from Discord, and delete or protect certain articles and comments.

Administrators also have all moderator rights by default. Currently, I'm the Chosen One and SavageOpress1138 serve as Chat Moderators.

See the archive to view previous requests for moderator rights.

Nomination rules[]

The following are the rules for requests for chat mod rights:

  1. Users must have 100 mainspace edits to be nominated for moderator rights and/or to vote on a nominee, per the voting policy.
  2. Users must be active participants in the relevant areas of Star Wars Fanon (i.e. in SWF Discord for chat moderator, engaged in community discussions for discussion moderator, anti-vandalism editing for content moderator, and all three for Moderator) to be qualified for this position.
  3. Users may not vote for or against themselves, but they may nominate themselves.
  4. Users must have at least a majority support vote (51% in support) for the nomination to be successful.

Users do not run against one another. Each individual nomination is considered a separate election from any other nomination that occurs at the same time.

Please provide solid reasons if you plan to vote against a candidate in order to most effectively justify your vote.

All relevant matters of the voting policy apply to nominations. Please be civil.

To set up a request for moderator rights of a nominee or of oneself, a user must provide the following format:

===[[User:Username|Username]] (Position) (+/-#)===
====Support====
====Oppose====
====Comments====
====Questions====

Questions can be asked by any user. Any and all appropriate topics are open for questioning.
