Star Wars Aftermath is a fanon animated television series set after 4 ABY, chronologically after Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi. It is based off the events of the epilogue of "Family Reunion – and Farewell," the final episode of Star Wars Rebels, and also includes characters from the Aftermath Trilogy of books. However, it is divergent from the canon storyline—most notably with the reversal of the Rebels episodes that dealt with Darth Maul—Maul was not killed by Obi-Wan Kenobi and remains alive in the series.

Development[]
Originally, Star Wars Aftermath was conceived as a bridge between the original and sequel trilogies, however it was later decided by Grand Chewbacca to create an entirely new replacement for the sequel trilogies, including aspects from both canon and Legends.[1]
Continuity[]
Other media[]
Several tie-in novels are planned, based on certain events hinted at or characters introduced and their backstories. One such novel is planned to be set during the Dark Age of the Republic—based primarily on Sith infighting, Jedi seizure of entire planets, the New Sith Wars and a reimagined Battle of Ruusan. Another follows the early adventures of the droid Huyang.
A series of short stories are also planned which will delve into background characters, and any character not expanded in canon.
