Star Wars: The New Frontier is an upcoming fan fiction novel being written by Zeon the Digger. The first installment in the New Frontier trilogy, the novel follows the first adventures of Force-sensitive Calen Solayr, as his ordinary life as a peddler on the Unknown Regions planet of Aranya is interrupted with the discovery of an an ancient Jedi holocron, which sends him on a collision course with the conflict between evil warlord Raixan Fauth and the underground branch of the Galactic Federation Triumvirate, as well as their New Jedi Order defenders.
Its title originating from the author's very first Star Wars fan fiction when he was a child, the novel received a variety of plot changes and rewrites throughout the years before the current version was decided upon. In writing it, the author drew upon Episode IV: A New Hope, the Knights of the Old Republic videogame, and the novelization of Episode VII The Force Awakens in the hopes of creating a feeling akin to that of the original trilogy. Planning and character designs commenced on December 22, 2015, while the actual penning of the novel began on Christmas Day of the same year. The novel's actual release date has yet to be decided.
The events of this novel are set a thousand years after the conclusion of Star Wars: Legacy.
