Star Wars: Saber Battalion is a fan fiction novella by Sean "Goodwood" Nash that continues the adventures of Laera Reyolé and the 3rd Marine Battalion during the first year of the Jedi Civil War. Publisher's summary[]

Saber Battalion
For approximately four thousand years, from the earliest conflicts with the Sith Empire to the Ruusan Reformation, the Republic Marines did battle with the enemies of the Galactic Republic. Renowned for their skill in all aspects of galactic warfare as well as their traditions of duty, valor, honor and loyalty, the Marines were one of the foundation stones for civilization throughout the galaxy.

In the wake of the betrayal of Revan and Malak, Laera Reyolé is thrust once more into battle after a year of training as a Jedi. With the Republic reeling from the relentless onslaught of the new Sith Empire, the Marine captain, now in command of the Third Battalion, plans a counterattack on the Zabrak homeworld of Iridonia in a bold, last-ditch effort to stem the tide of conquest. With the galaxy at stake, will her Marines be up to the task?

Behind the scenes[]

The novella's first draft was finished on June 8 2010. Like the rest of the Tales from the Corps Series, Saber Battalion attempts to meld as much as possible with pre-established canon. The major plot line was intended, in part, to establish a possible fanon chronicle of the canonical Second Battle of Iridonia, placing it just before the Republic's victory at Rodia.
