Sovi L`rian Evnairis was a female Soju Centurion of the Order of Keltrayu.

Biography[]

Early service[]

Born on Rubutu in 117 ABY, Sovi was recruited to the Order young and went to train in the Citadel aboard the Sith Star. As a Novice, she was part of "the 31s", and thus a close friend of Syuug, Luna Raquelsei, Tycho Rowan, and Evelyan Sovex, though Luna was her best friend. Sovi herself emerged as the ringleader of the group.

Commissioned as a Centurion in 139 ABY, Sovi served in several law enforcement assignments until the Vagaari War, when she entered front-line service in the Prime Fleet alongside Luna and Evelyan. Evelyan was killed during the conflict and Syuug died as one of the Shest Minor Seven, and the loss of two close friends drove Sovi on in battle. She assisted in the final eradication of the Vagaari species.

Lifesaver[]

Impressed with her abilities, Tariun Sakaros asked his sister Rin to appoint Sovi one of his Royal Guards in 144 ABY, after the war had concluded. Sovi served in that assignment alongside Ghess, and she became close with both her brother and Tariun. Tariun was assigned to supervise the ongoing construction of Rin's Super Star Destroyer at a deep-space construction yard, and Sovi and Ghess both became concerned over the Sith Lord's growing bitterness and alcohol abuse. Tariun managed to import small amounts of spice, although Sovi subtly sabotaged some of these shipments.

In late 144, Tariun journeyed to Nar Shaddaa without Rin's approval to see his brother Nagarian. He ordered his Guards to remain behind, but while Ghess did so to keep an eye on the project, Sovi defied his order and followed him to Belsavis. She shadowed him through a few bars and spice dens, subtly incapacitating those who meant the Sith Lord harm and who he himself had not seen. When he discovered Sovi's presence, Tariun was irritated, but let it go. Mere days later, due to the intense strain of alcohol and drugs on his body, Tariun suffered a heart attack. Sovi used her native electric charge to give his system a shock and set his heart back on the correct rhythm.

When Tariun got clean and sober, he was very grateful to Sovi for saving him, and thereafter she was one of his favorite Centurions. Though furious at Tariun, Rin, too, was deeply grateful for Sovi's service, although the Soju herself considered it simply doing her job. Sovi and Ghess were at Tariun's side when he married Breek Zagrev in 145 ABY.

Later Service[]

Rotated out of the Guard in 147 ABY, Sovi returned to law enforcement duty, although she fought at the Defense of Rykar during the Nightmare War. She was also part of Breek Zagrev's strike team to assassinate Ador Hentral during the Battle of Dolomir. In 151 ABY, she replaced Oorvad as Praetor-Instructor for Shien in the Citadel. Sovi briefly left her duties in 156 ABY to participate in Operation Broken Chain. She returned to field work in 157 ABY, replaced as Praetor by Kylaea Porén.

In 159 ABY, Sovi replaced Gershet Deyrzhion as Praetor of Expansion Fleet South, serving as the Order's commander there and a senior staff advisor to Vice Admiral Sir Tarse Medrego.

Powers and abilities[]

Sovi received the same extensive training in telekinesis and telepathy as all Centurions. She chose to specialize in Shien, and though she was not ranked among the Empire's best duelists by Kieran Sapphire, many Centurions spoke highly of her combat abilities, and Sapphire considered her in the next tier down. She was sufficiently talented to kill a first-generation Vyrak clone at Rykar with only flesh wounds, and survived the assassination mission on Ador Hentral with similarly minor wounds.

As a Soju, Sovi carried a natural electric charge, and trained herself to use it as an offensive weapon. In the rare event that an attacker got a hand on her, she could shock a Human violently enough to stun him for several seconds. Sovi also had sufficient discrimination with the power to increase or decrease its effect, and was able to restart Tariun Sakaros's heart on the correct rhythm with a proper application of electricity.

Sovi trained in Var Shek more than the minimum required for Centurions, and was known to incorporate elements of the style into her lightsaber fighting.

Appearance and personality[]

Relatively tall for a female Soju, Sovi Evnairis was 1.85 meters (6'1") tall. Her pale skin had a faint blueish tint, as did her white hair, though due to her electric charge she usually kept her hair buzzed short or shaved altogether. Her eyes were a brighter shade of blue. She carried a single straight-hilt lightsaber; unusual among Centurions, her lightsaber had colorless focusing crystals and produced a pure white blade.

Sovi had great loyalty to her friends and family, and could use that loyalty to drive herself in battle. She was particularly ferocious in her loyalty to the other "31s", as well as to Ghess and Tariun Sakaros.

Behind the scenes[]

Sovi Evnairis was created by Ahrrie, who granted permission to Sakaros to write this article on her behalf.
