The Sons of War (Akaan'ade) was an Old Mandalorian faction founded on Mandalore during the Great Clan Wars (44-32 BBY) and shared similar philosophical views with the Death Watch. The Sons of War were allies of the Death Watch and other 'crusader' clans that opposed the Supercommandos, who were another ideological faction of Old Mandalorians.
Although they considered the Supercommandos to be a mortal enemy, many Akaan'ade were themselves former members of Supercommando organizations and the group as a whole followed parts of the Supercommando Codex.
History[]
The Sons of War were formed at the height of the Great Clan Wars and, alongside their main ally, Death Watch, they waged war against the New Mandalorians (who were backed by the Galactic Republic) and various Supercommando clans and militias. Shortly after the war's end, the Sons of War were disbanded as many of its former members went on to operate as mercenaries, pirates, or members of other Mandalorian organizations. Later during the New Republic era, a veteran who once fought for Akaan'ade reformed the organization in opposition of Fenn Shysa's government. Apart from Shysa's Supercommando forces, the reformed Akaan'ade also opposed both the New Republic and Imperial Remnant. Elements of Akaan'ade continued to exist for over a century until they were eradicated by Supercommando forces during the reign of Chernan Ordo.
