Sith Adept was the standard title held by members of Darth Revan's Sith Order, as well as the Sith Triumvirate and the Remnant Sith Order. Essentially the counter to a Jedi Knight, an Adept was one considered fully initiated and trained in the dark side of the Force. Unlike Padawans, however, most Sith trainees were taught as classes in the academies on Malachor V, Korriban, or Thule, rather than one-on-one by a Master.
Clad in black and wielding red-bladed lightsabers, Adepts were most commonly seen fighting Jedi and Republic soldiers on the front lines or defending locations important to the Empire, such as the Star Forge.
By completing additional training or else proving their worth in the field, Adepts could attain higher or more specialized ranks. Exceptional warriors such as Gorbus wore armor and were known as Sith Marauders, while those with proven leadership ability were appointed minor Sith Lords by either the Dark Lord or one of the Dark Lord's apprentices. Scholars and teachers such as Jorak Uln and Thoriel Silbus became Masters in the Sith academies. Those with an affinity for politics or administration were posted as planetary or sectorial governors; the latter, such as Korlen Olligard, were known as prefects.
