A Sith Acolyte was the rank one recieved after they were promoted by their master and before becoming a Master. The counterpart of a Sith Acolyte was the Sith Warrior. A Sith Acolyte was a Sith within the Empire and formerly the Sith Order that had recieve his/her Darth name and was more of a force specialist.
