Sicc'orandunum was the capital city of the Sicc'orax Republic and its successor the People's Democratic Republic of Sicc'oraxia. It was a large city featuring three layers of defenses towards the heart of it, where the civic and governmental buildings were found. The city grew as much of central Virconis was conquered and annexed by the Sicc'orax, bringing wealth, population, and slaves into the capital which quickly created three classes of citizens. The richest lived towards the heart of the city, with workers living in a central band between the upper class and the slums of the outskirts. Each class was separated by a defensive wall, leading to the wealthier citizens being better protected.
The city was relatively secure throughout much of the Sicc'orax Republic's existence until the Second Morsian-Sicc'orax War, where at the end of the war the Morsian Military Dictatorship began to siege the city in the Battle of Sicc'orandunum. Breaking through the outer defenses, they found it difficult to progress through the central defenses before a peace was declared. Sicc'orandunum was left as the capital of what was left of the republic, under the command of a puppet government. In the Sicc'oraxian Civil War, a coup was attempted which saw the puppet government overthrown and a new socialist government put in its place.
The new government lasted in Sicc'orandunum for little more than ten years before the Third Morsian-Sicc'orax War broke out and the Morsians once again attacked the city in the Battle of Sicc'orandunum. Despite several attempts by the Sicc'orax for peace, the First Morsian Republic was determined to crack the city, and managed to do so. After much looting and burning of the city by the Morsians, the Sicc'orax attempted to fight on but soon surrendered. The nation was annexed which brought the city under direct Morsian control and rule.
