Shadows of the Phoenix was a mercenary organization headquartered off of Had Abaddon in the Ashlan Expanse in the decades leading up to the Great Territorial War. Following the conclusion of the war, Husen Al-Dubrir and Mathias Helsdain, the leaders of the organization, took over the democratically elected government of the organizations home world. After Al-Dubrir crowned himself Emperor of Had Abaddon, he launched a campaign to take over Kal'Shabbol and destroy the Bendu Order that became known as the Ashlan Civil War. At the end of the war, the organization was destroyed.
