Colonel Serdor Marrak was a male Human who rose to become an officer in the Army of the Galactic Empire and the succeeding Imperial Remnant. A native of Thyferra, Marrak grew up under the influence of his father, who was a Republic Navy commodore and Clone Wars veteran. His father encouraged him to join the youth group of the Commission for Preservation of the New Order, and to study military tactics and history. Thus Marrak had become knowledgeable in military tactics and strategy, and joined Imperial Military at the age of eighteen. However, while he did support the Empire, he was not a typical New Order zealot that COMPNOR was full of. Marrak especially disagreed with it's anti-alien views, with his best friend from childhood being a female Twi'lek named Nakiya Tann. The two grew close, and eventually married. She worked as an official in the Imperial government, becoming a secretary for Grand Vizier Sate Pestage.

Biography[]

Early life[]

Serdor Marrak was a male Human who was born in 25 BBY on the planet of Thyferra, which produced the majority of the galaxy's bacta supply. His father, Varel Marrak, was a commodore in the Republic Navy during the Clone Wars, and thus, was often gone during Serdor's earlier years. During that time, he was mainly raised by his mother. However, in 19 BBY, when the Galactic Republic became the Galactic Empire, the elder Marrak returned, being honorably discharged from the new Imperial Navy as part of the purges of old Republic officers on orders of Emperor Palpatine. However, Commodore Marrak was not aware of this, and continued to give full support to the New Order, viewing it as the improved version of the Republic. As a result, he instilled many of these values into his son, including the interest in military history and tactics, as well as politics. This was against Marrak's mother's wishes, but the young man took interest in his father's old career, and eagerly joined the Sub-Adult Group of the Commission for Preservation of the New Order. It was an organization that raised young Imperial citizens to be fanatical supporters of the Empire and zealots of the New Order.

However, as Marrak learned more about politics and history, he found it harder to become a devoted follower of the New Order, as many of his colleagues in COMPNOR became. But nonetheless, Marrak remained a strong supporter of the Empire, though he did disagree with some of its values. The main one he disagreed with was the discrimination against non-HuMans, as he personally believed that a being's gender nor race mattered, as long as they had a skill that could come in useful to the Empire. Because of this, Marrak had several friends during his youth that were not Humans, including a female Twi'lek, Nakiya Tann, who migrated to Thyferra as a refugee from Ryloth, which was a major battleground during the Clone Wars. Part of the SAGroup on Thyferra, Marrak hoped to join the Stormtrooper Corps upon reaching the age of eighteen. However, after being tested by Imperial recruiters, it was determined that he would instead by placed into the Imperial Army, to be trained as an officer, due to his talents in tactics and strategy.

Behind the scenes[]

He is named after a canon character, who is, ironically, a Rebel. The main pictures of the character are mainly pictures of Malcor Brashin, an Imperial Grand General in Star Wars canon.
