Senate Building Security, or Senate Security, or more simply SBS, was a security force that protected the Republic Senate. They mainly stayed at the Senate Building, but sometimes went to different parts of Coruscant and were also sometimes used on Venator-class Star Destroyers and were used to escort Senators off planet. These are none-clone forces, made from regular humans.
The Senate Guard was made in 25,000 BBY, when the Senate Committee was first created when the Galactic Republic was. They protected many senators, and often worked with the Coruscant Guard and the Coruscant Security Force. Prior to the Battle of Naboo, they wore blue robes and Imperial Royal Guard-like helmets, but blue. Later in the Clone Wars, the Guards received blue clone trooper armor and clone trooper helmets, but the fins at the top were facing the opposite direction, and the had a slightly different visor.
Cad Bane broke into the Senate Building once and killed many of them, but taken heavy casualties. His assassin droids and the four other bounty hunters with him were killed, so only he survived. In the battle of Coruscant, General Grievous fought off several clone troopers and one senate guard, and succeeded in kidnapping the Supreme Chancellor. After the fall of the Republic, they were turned into Imperial Senate Guards.
During the days of the Galactic Empire, Senate Guards and Senate Commandos worked alongside Imperial riot troopers.
