Sek'nos Lanith was a Human male Jedi Master, born to Drosk and Asha Lanith in 62 BBY, on Naboo. He spent most of his early days on Kamino, however, as his parents both fell sick and died when he was only three. A group of Kaminoans found him while on a trip to Naboo and raised the human as their own for two years, when the Jedi Order took him.
Lanith was notable for his Force sensitivity, and high amount of midi-chlorians. He was one of the only Jedi to not die in the Great Jedi Purge (legends report that he was able to take on and defeat more than 200 clones all by himself, on Coruscant at the time), and took refuge in Dagobah, living within one kilometer of Yoda, even though the two never sensed each other and did not meet.
Lanith went to Alderaan in 0 BBY, however, and barely escaped death, leaving within a minute of the Death Star's superlaser blast. His aircraft took heavy damage navigating through pieces of the planet, and he crashed on Coruscant, encountering Darth Vader and defeating him, an amazing feat that not many other Jedi had done.
Lanith was not very large, standing at 1.84 meters, or 6 feet, and he was light and moved very quickly, plus his natural skill honed by years of practice, making him an expert with lightsaber combat. He took trips from Dagobah many times and stormtroopers were sent after him when he was detected, although he resisted all capture for over twenty years until the Galactic Empire was destroyed, and sensed Luke Skywalker, coming to him to help teach younglings. It is believed that he was the last surviving member of the Old Jedi Order, living past 37 ABY, but it is probable that he died sometime in the Legacy era.
Biography[]
Early life[]
Lanith had a brother and a sister, with the former born in 62 BBY as well, and the latter in 60 BBY. Neither of them were Force-sensitive, and Lanith was not targeted by Jedi until his mother found him lifting household items with the Force, but she did not know what to make of it, so she did not tell anyone.
The Kaminoans were more familiar with the Force, and once they saw Sek'nos doing the same, they brought him to the Jedi Order. It was debated whether or not to teach him, as he was a little older than most recruits, but they did it anyway, citing his much higher natural skill and sensitivity as a reason why. It is not known whose Padawan he became, and it is believed that he never took on a Padawan despite being a Jedi Master.
Career[]
Lanith created his holocron in 32 BBY.
Post-mortem[]
Lanith's quick style of lightsaber combat was used by Jedi for years to come, still to this day. Many Jedi lose weight and attempt to gain the dexterity and speed of Lanith, and his teachings are in a Holocron that is revered by the Jedi and is taught to most of them early.
Personality and traits[]
Sek'nos Lanith was a somewhat shy person, and was very pleasant in manner and easy to talk to. He rarely said the first word of a conversation, but when talked to, he continued it and enjoyed to debate current events with others. When he had to kill, and he usually did not unless to protect himself or others that he loved, he would give a swift death (as with lightsabers), and only used his Force powers for good. However, he did not hold back on droids, because they could not feel pain.
Powers and abilities[]
Lanith had the ability to use almost every force power -- he even changed the molecular style of droids, causing them to be unable to attack or even move (this was never used on humans, because he deemed it to be cruel and unnecessary). He had a penchant for calming animals, and it was said that he could even talk to them (Force translate, which he used with nearly species to make his words be translated to their language as he spoke]].
Behind the scenes[]
The name "Sek'nos Lanith" came from the Star Wars name generator, but the names were both found separately. He was originally going to be another species, but I couldn't find the "just right" one for him, so I gave up and made him a long-living human, as I wanted him to span many eras.
