Seftin Vanik to Poe Dameron
Lieutenant Seftin Vanik was a human male pilot of the Resistance. Formerly a stunt flyer in an aerial circus that traveled the Messert system, Vanik began to question his loyalties to the galactic government when the New Republic seceded from his homeworld. Vanik was personally recruited into the Resistance by Poe Dameron, where he flew an A-wing starfighter. A daring pilot, Vanik was often teased by his wingmates for his risky maneuvers while in combat with enemy craft, and was nicknamed the "Shield Cooker" due to his habit of flying his own ship through the explosion of his close-proximity hits.
In 35 ABY, Lieutenant Vanik flew his A-wing during the Battle of Exegol, the climactic engagement in the Resistance's war against the FirstOrder. During the battle, his starfighter was shot from the sky and he was killed.

Seftin Vanik was born five years after the Battle of Yavin on a planet of the Messert system.

Seftin was a New Republic pilot and he joined the Resistance after the Battle of Crait.
Death[]
Lieutenant Vanik was killed by a TIE/dg starfigighter during the Battle of Exegol in his A-wing RZ-2.
