The Second Yuzzhan Vong War was a war that was fought concurrently with the War of the Resurrected Emperor. The war was originally meant to divide the already taxed strength of the New Republic. The war started in 50 ABY and ended in 51 ABY. It failed to do it's primary objective. The war ended in total defeat for the Yuuzhan Vong, and a total victory for the New Republic.

Background[]

Palpatine had been resurrected on the Star Destroyer Grant by way of a resurrection crystals. At once he had launched an all out war on the New Republic and had suffered several defeats at their hands. But, even as he failed in this blunted assault, he realized how weak and unorganized the Republic was.

He contacted Yun Non, King of the Yuzzhan Vong, and for a month negotiated with him. He finally succeeded at convincing the Vong that they would only regain their pride back by joining him in war against the Republic. An army of 3 million Vong was quickly raised, and a fleet of two world ships was made ready.

After the defeat at the Battle of the Graveyard of Super Star Destroyers, Palpatine, realizing that his newly resurrected servant Darth Vader was going to soon betray him, contacted Yun Non. It was time to go to war.

The War Begins[]

Yun Non ordered his fleet to Zarnoth, about the time that the Battle of Zarnoth began. They arrived two hours after the Emperor was killed. Yun Non realized that he was too late, and ordered one of the two world ships to return, but ordered the other one to proceed and destroy as much of the enemy as possible. Three hours later, the Second Battle of Zarnoth was over, and even as the Galaxy celebrated the final end to Palpatine, Luke Skywalker assisted High Admiral Stang in preparing a counter strike against the Totalen sector.
