The tune to the Secession Grand March

The Secession Grand March was a piece of instrumental music from Earth that was composed by Michael Yarwood, OCM in late 22 BBY in order to celebrate the Zarkan Secession Convention, in which the delegates of the Zarkan Kingdom met to discuss the nation's secession from the Union of Earth States following the Union's expulsion of the members of the Western States Confederacy due to the Western States Expulsion Act.

Inspired by a piece by fellow composer Adam Edwin Blackwood, another soon-to-be prominent composer of the Confederate States of Earth, titled the Grand Secession March, which was also made in celebration of the Zarkan Secession Convention, the Secession Grand March was the very first of Yarwood's patriotic Confederate music pieces, of which the zenith would be his composition that became the unofficial Confederate national anthem - The Bonny White Flag.

Like Blackwood, Yarwood was a strong patriot, conservative and nationalist from the Zarkan Kingdom who fully supported his queen, Jane Zarkan, and the traditionalist stance of the Western nations. As with the vast majority of his fellow Westerners, Yarwood fully embraced secession, and celebrated the secession of the Western nations from the Union, and the subsequent birth of the Confederacy.

The sheet music for the piece was submitted into the First Edition of the popular Confederate patriotic song and music book titled Patriotic Songs and Anthems of Confederate Earth.
