Satterline. Not exactly pretty, is it?
Vadaan

Satterline was a small but powerful planet in the Mid Rim. Home to the reclusive and alien Saathith, Satterline stood at the centre of The Toll, a union of ten rich and powerful worlds. The Overlord of Satterline ruled these ten systems.

Physical characteristics[]

Satterline was a barren and windswept world, characterised by steep black cliffs and jagged slate mountains. Little water flowed on the surface, though there were many underground currents running through the rock. The planet itself was largely uninhabited, with small pockets of life across the world, though its historical and political significance made it an extremely powerful world and head of The Toll.

History[]

Early History[]

Thousands of years before the Republic, the Saathith settled the ten systems of The Toll and claimed it for their own. However, when the Galactic Republic was established, the Saathith yielded control to the new galactic power. However, they retained some degree of autonomy and retained the ancient seat of Overlord, which was passed down the family line.

Age of the Republic[]

During the Clone Wars, The Toll was caught up in a series of extremely bloody battles that led to the deaths of millions of their inhabitants. At the end of the War this triggered the Succession Crisis, which resulted in the Jedi Master Catterfall renouncing his duty as a Jedi to take his place as the Overlord. When the Republic was replaced by the Galactic Empire, Satterline and The Toll proclaimed themselves neutral and renounced any Imperial interference, protecting Catterfall from the wrath of the Empire.

Age of the Empire[]

Some months after the end of the War, former Jedi Bolo Artel, accompanied by Vadaan, sought out Catterfall at his castle in order to find refuge from the Empire and Darth Vader. Catterfall, an emotionless individual who did not want to provoke the Empire's ire, refused and kicked them off his planet. Soon after, however, Catterfall was assassinated by Roto, a bounty hunter sent by Vader to kill the Jedi Master.

Catterfall's death sparked a skirmish across the entire planet, with Imperial infiltrators vying with Saathith loyalists. In the confusion Artel and Vadaan -- himself an Imperial spy -- were able to escape, but not before fresh Imperial forces, led by Vader, entered the system. Order was soon restored to the world, with the role of Overlord being abolished and the Empire assuming direct control over the system.

Behind the scenes[]

The system of Satterline was created by Jegory as the homeworld of Catterfall, a character in the story of Bolo Artel.
