We love the people close to us. We cherish and protect our family against all enemies. And when an enemy hurts them, we make that enemy bleed. That is what it is to be a Sakaros.
—Tariun Sakaros to his brother Nagarian, 157 ABY
Bloodthirsty butchers, every last one of them. Handy in a fight, though.
—Arba the Hutt
The Sakaros family, sometimes referred to as the Sakaros Clan, was a Force-sensitive familial group, comprised largely of Sith blood but also featuring humans, Qua, and Offshoots. Ancestors of the family extended back into the Sith Empire, records of which identified the Sakaros clan as warriors and assassins. The first known modern member was Nagarian Sakaros.
First generation[]
Nagarian and his wife, Velia, both pureblood Sith, gave birth to three children: Velian, Takariak, and Anticlea, born in 92, 89, and 75 BBY, respectively. The same year of Anticlea's birth, the government of the Sakaros homeworld of Andaria collapsed into civil war. Seventeen-year-old Velian joined the Nationalist forces, and one of his first missions was to eliminate the families considered traitorous in local bureaucracy, one of whom was his father (or so the government alleged). Velian accompanied the raiding party, though he did not fire the shots that killed his mother and father, before being killed himself by his brother Tak. Outraged, Tak took Anticlea and fled to the rebels.
Four years later, Tak was operating as a commando and demolitions expert for the rebels and Anticlea was his ward. When his sister was murdered by a Nationalist Guardsman, Tak succumbed to bloodlust and killed the man (and forty-two other Guardsmen) with his bare hands. Mere months later, he was recruited to be the apprentice of the Dark Lord Khrado Ragnos. Tak would go on to become a Sith Lord in his own right.
Extended family[]
Through a ritual of blood brotherhood with Khrado Ragnos, Tak Sakaros inherited his new brother's family. This was irrelevant at the time, as neither knew of any living family, but became crucially important later when Tak discovered a number of his brother's long-lost relatives, including two sisters and the Ragnos's own daughter, Adrienne Keane.
Adrienne, like her father, was a talented alchemist and Force-user. However, she was also subject to wanderlust, frequently roaming the galaxy unsupervised, with only her lightsaber and a pair of tuk'ata for protection. She bore a single daughter in 26 ABY, and was put into a coma by a failed experiment's explosion not long after. Her unconscious body came into the protection of her uncle Tak.
Second generation[]
Velian died without issue and Anticlea died still a child, but Tak went on to have six children over his 228 years of life:
Tariun, Khrado, and Marquand Sakaros
- Marquand: Tak's scholarly second son, a Makashi stylist and reluctant Sith Lord who died at Dorian IV as well.
- Tariun: The last child Tak had with his wife (he decapitated her for adultery shortly after Tariun's birth). Alone among the three brothers, Tariun survived Dorian IV, and indeed outlived his father.
- Hayden Ragnos-Sakaros: Created by Khrado Ragnos's sister, Valadyn, in a genetic experiment combining her DNA with Tak's to produce a pure Sith descendant. The only one of Tak's children who was pure Sith, Hayden was also the only one to become a Jedi, rising to the rank of Jedi Master and membership on the Jedi High Council before being killed during the Massacre at Ossus by Darth Nihl.
- Rin: Katherine "Rin" Sakaros, Tak's only daughter, was sired with the rebellious Jedi Master Ye`keb Millennium. Rin grew up to found the Golden Empire with Tariun's help and become its first Queen.
- Nagarian: Tak's last child, born over a century after Rin, to Reiko Kaytana. He was named for his grandfather, and occasionally called "Nagarian Sakaros the Younger" to distinguish them.
Hayden predeceased his father in 130 ABY. Tak, the last Sakaros pureblood, died in 139 ABY, leaving only part-Sith descendants, although the family name not only survived, but became part of the first ruling dynasty of the Golden Empire.
Third generation[]
Tariun married Lorelai Whitesun, but the two had no children before her death. Only when he remarried Breek Zagrev in 145 ABY did the Sakaros family finally produce a new generation. Tariun and Breek had three children: Delliak, Nike, and Amina.
"Cousins"[]
Touch her and die.
—Tak Sakaros, to a bounty hunter, concerning his grandniece
By 40 ABY neither Tariun Sakaros nor Hayden Ragnos-Sakaros had had any children, and Katherine was still a toddler, Adrienne Keane had had a daughter, whom she named Andromeda. Half-Sith like her cousin Tariun, Andromeda was taken in by her great-uncle Tak when her mother was put into a chemical coma during the failed experiment.
With his son fully trained, after Tak trained his apprentice Lorelai Whitesun to mastery, he took Andromeda as his newest apprentice. The two Sith, while hiding from the forces of Tak's former ally Gav Daragon, trained extensively. Eventually, Tak stepped back from constantly defending his niece from Imperial assassins and let the young woman do so herself. Andromeda eventually had a family of her own, and her grandchildren, Axelia and Jarek Solios, considered themselves cousins to the Sakaroses (following the Sith custom of treating Tak and Khrado Ragnos as if they had been born brothers).

Behind the Scenes[]
The three Sith brothers (Khrado, Marquand, and Tariun) were originally developed as representing aspects of Tak's personality. Khrado represents his anger, power, and lightsaber mastery; Marquand, his skill at language and elegance; and Tariun, his charm, wittiness, and use of two lightsabers. As roleplay of Tariun developed and Khrado and Marquand were killed off, Tariun's character was developed more through experience.
In what may be his largest retcon to date, User Sakaros changed the originally RPed nature of the Sakaros brothers' relationship; though current fanon has Khrado and Tariun born ten years apart, in the original chat the three were actually triplets.
