Beware, Viceroy! The Federation has gone too far this time.
—Sabe warns Nute Gunray about the invasion

Sabe Amidala was the queen of Naboo during its invasion in 19 BBY. She first contacted the Trade Federation Viceroy Nute Gunray to warn him that she knew all about the invasion. Even though Gunray denied it, he did go on and invade Naboo. Amidala was one of the many captured. She and her fellow guards and guests were rescued by Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn, his former apprentice Obi-Wan Kenobi, and the Gungan Jar Jar Bink. They then fled Naboo from the Royal Starship in the hangar. They were soon attacked by the blockade, which managed to damage their shield generator. However, many Astromech Droids attempted to fix it. Many had been destroyed, except for one blue droid named R2-D2 fixed the shields. However, the hyperdrive was leaking and the ship was forced to crash land on Utapau. The crash cost the lives of their pilot Ric Olie and two guards. The good news was that they crash landed near the home of local and famed farmboy Annikin Starkiller, who volunteered along with his family to both shelter them and help repair the ship for free.

Behind the scenes[]

In Alternate Universe, Sabe Amidala is portrayed by Keira Knightley, who portrayed the canon version of Sabe the queen's handmaiden. Sabe is a combination of Padme Amidala and Sabe. Padme still will appear in the series as a Jedi Knight.
