You didn't think I'd let you die?
—Rue to Calico[src]

Captain Rue was a reformed Sith Apprentice who befriended a prisoner by the name of Calico and then escaped by way of her ship, The Centennial. She worked as a bounty hunter but made appearances as a secondary protagonist in The Crystalia Chronicles: The Queen of Shadow and The Adventures of Dusk and Ash: The Architect's Code. She was a rather tallish human female, around seventeen, eighteen years old. She was in a relationship with Calico, her best friend and the one she saved from a life of imprisonment. She had six "sisters" and several crewmates that she picked up on her journeys.

History: TBD[]

Rue was born on Jakku to unknown persons and was taken prisoner very early in her life. The reason for this is because she is strong with both sides of the Force, but leaned towards the darker side, even as a young toddler. The Sith started training her to become a Sith Master and she began to learn the full might of her power. She was given a double-sided red lightsaber and she wielded it proudly. One day, when she was fifteen years of age, the soldiers returned from conquering a planet by the name of Salineas.

Salineas was home to a feline-humanoid race and they brought back the heiress to the civilization, a young girl Rue's age. She refused to speak to anyone and was scheduled for termination. The day before her execution, Rue snuck into her cell to see if she would speak to her. The princess, stunned by Rue's straight-forwardness and kind words, revealed that her name was Calico, the queen regent of her people, as both of her parents and most of her citizens were killed by the soldiers. Rue was heartbroken to hear this and decided she would help Calico escape.

They boarded Rue's ship, The Centennial, and made a hasty escape. Rue was unsure if she could adjust to being a good person after all her training to use the dark side of the Force to crush her enemies, but Calico assured her that she would be able to forget everything that had happened to her.

Rue soon sought a profession in bounty-hunting and quickly became well-known, thanks to her stealthy attacks and her infamous lightsaber. One day, she was sent to track down three young Resistance fighters by the names of Julio, Rei, and Noah. She and Calico, aboard The Centennial, tracked them to a gladiator arena on a planet ruled by a ruthless queen. Rue decided she'd fight in order to get closer to the three pilots. Then, tragedy struck.

Rue, Julio, Rei, Noah, and a boy named Daro were fighting against each other all at once, when Calico decided she'd make a move. She flew in close to the palace and the arena and used a teleportation device to zap the three pilots into the ship. It was just Rue and Daro in the arena. But it wasn't all in their favor. The queen had gotten wind of what was going on and soldiers marched into the stands, trying to arrest Rue and Daro. Calico threw a rope down from the ship for Rue to grab hold of and the bounty hunter shimmied up it and into the ship. Calico leapt down the rope and grabbed Daro, trying to hoist him into the ship, but it was too late. He shot her in the stomach and climbed into the ship himself, leaving Calico behind. Rue was overcome with rage, teleported her comatose friend into the ship and took off, leaving the planet behind and, unbeknownst to her, gaining four new crew members.

Rue stayed at her friend's side while her condition worsened. She decided she needed to find a medic for the ship, and fast. She took off to a neighboring planet, Plumeria, and inquired if there were any medics wanting to leave their current position. Rue was in luck and found a teenage girl named Serina who was an expert medic, and her twin sister, a girl named Teck, who was an expert in the field of repairing technology and ships. She welcomed both girls aboard and let Serina try to heal Calico.

While Rue was on Plumeria gathering supplies, she ran into a group of girls. They were wanting an exciting adventure, and adopted Rue as their leader. Their names were Gretchen, Adyson, Holly, Katie, Milly, and Ginger and they were greeted warmly onboard Rue's mobile space station.

Luckily, Calico pulled through and Rue was at her side when she woke from her coma. Calico asked if she was alive, and Rue responded that she would never let her friend die, while using Calico's nickname and smirking. They then share a passionate kiss and began a relationship.

Behind the Scenes[]

Rue was OBat406's second Star Wars OC. She went through many different stages of development. She was originally going to be related to Rey from the Sequel Trilogy, but OBat406 decided against it as Rue would probably become a Mary Sue.
