Peace can only be achieved once all opposing forces are out of the picture, and the Volta stand in our way.
—Roger Auga, explaining his attack on the Volta[src]

Roger Auga was a male human General in the Galactic Republic. Part of a conspiracy to eliminate the Volta, he launched an attack against the Volta in 2,280 BBY. Leinad Dilligaf, leader of the conspiracy as well as Supreme Chancellor of the Galactic Republic, sent Republic troops to capture Auga, resulting in a firefight. During the battle, Auga's position was struck, injuring him. Before he could be captured, Auga killed himself.[1]

Biography[]

In 2,280 BBY, Auga was present at the Senate budget meeting where they voted to cut the military's funding. Within the next month, he and others, including Leinad Dilligaf, the Supreme Chancellor, formed a conspiracy to eliminate the Volta, a Human-run government in the outer rim, who had amassed a wealth in Krayt dragon pearls. A month later, Auga launched his plan by activating flight plan 'RAV', which called for an assault on the Volta, a fail-safe for if the Supreme Chancellor was killed in a Volta attack. With the plan in place, Auga's base on Naboo was attacked by Republic troops in order to capture him. Auga convinced his men that the soldiers were Volta in disguise and had them fight back. Towards the end of the battle, Auga took control of a heavy repeater rifle and shot at the Republic troops, who fired back with artillery, causing the room he was in to collapse. Shortly after, Auga saw his troops surrendering. Unable to allow himself to be captured, Auga took out a hold-out blaster and killed himself.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

Roger Auga's name was originally "Agua", the Spanish word for "water", in the original draft.[2] Author Josh Bender intended to name him after Roger Waters, former member of Pink Floyd.
