Rinnkans were bipedal reptilian sentient humanoids that originated from the ice planet Rinnk. By the time of the Invasion of Naboo, the species was almost completely extinct.
Biology and appearance[]
Rinnkans had green, scaly skin and were roughly the same size as Humans. Having originated from a frigid planet, their biology was able to withstand extreme cold.
Throughout the galaxy, they were often mistaken for Trandoshans since they looked somewhat similar.
Society and culture[]
When the Rinnkan civilization was thriving on Rinnk, they worshipped a god called The Great One. They even built an enormous temple in his name. There's a full Rinnkan mythology that was lost over the millennia and was never completely deciphered.
History[]
Roughly four millennia before the Battle of Yavin, a civilization of Rinnkans lived on the planet Rinnk. They worshipped a god known as The Great One and constructed a temple in his name at the eastern end of a mountain range in the northern hemisphere of the planet.
Over the next few thousand years, the Rinnkans slowly began to die out or leave the planet entirely. By 32 BBY, the planet was uninhabited by the sentient species and the Rinnkans were almost completely extinct. But there were a few around the galaxy.
Rinnkans in the galaxy[]
Rinnkans were often mistaken for Trandoshans since they looked somewhat similar.
A couple known Rinnkans in the twilight years of the Galactic Republic were the sculptor Dono Tello and the historian and archaeologist Fritz Mendo.
