Rinnk was a planet orbiting the star also named Rinnk in the Rinnk system in the Outer Rim. The system was on the far reaches of the galaxy, past Utapau.

Description[]

Rinnk's orbit was so far from it's star that there wasn't enough warmth to keep the ice melted on the planet's surface. Some claim that Rinnk is even more frigid that Hoth.

There wasn't much for weather and very little cloud cover. Rinnk would get an occasional wind storm, but for the most part, the air was still. When that wind picked up, the temperature would drop even farther.

It was difficult to tell how much of the planet was land and how much was water because the entire surface was covered in ice. All bodies of water were frozen over.

History[]

Roughly four millennia before the Battle of Yavin, a civilization of Rinnkans lived on the planet. They worshipped a god known as The Great One and constructed a temple in his name at the eastern end of a mountain range in the northern hemisphere of the planet. There's a full Rinnkan mythology that was never completely deciphered.

Over the next few thousand years, the Rinnkans slowly began to die out or leave the planet entirely. By 32 BBY, the planet was uninhabited by the sentient species and the Rinnkans were almost completely extinct.

For at least a decade before 32 BBY, the criminal organization SMERSH was using The Temple of The Great One for their hideout on the abandoned planet. But, just prior to the Invasion of Naboo, one of SMERSH's plans backfired. The anti-terrorist agency MI5 found out where they were hiding and traveled to Rinnk to attack them.
