Rilan Zatch was a tactician and strategist in the Navy of the Sith Empire who became one of the eleven Grand Admirals appointed by the Sith Emperor in 3,659 BBY. Rising through the ranks due to his abilities, Zatch became an admiral during the Great Galactic War. As a result of his victories against the Galactic Republic, he became famous among the upper echelons of the Imperial military. In 3,659 BBY, his skills were recognized by the Sith Emperor himself, as Zatch was among the eleven officers promoted to the new rank of Grand Admiral. Zatch carried out a large scale operation with several of his colleagues, called the Coreward Push, just before the Sacking of Coruscant. He continued serving during the Cold War, and later during the Galactic War.
In 3,641 BBY, when the New Empire movement arose on Ilum, Grand Admiral Zatch was sent as part of the Imperial strike force, leading a fleet against a defected Grand Admiral, Niral Desann, and defeating him. However, he was later killed when his flagship's crew mutinied and joined the Order of Revan.
