The Republic Army was the ground component of the military of the Galactic Republic. The Army was one of the four branches of the Republic military, the others being the Republic Navy, Republic Marines, and Republic Special Operations Unit. Out of them, the Army was the most underfunded and neglected, eventually disbanded altogether. It was eventually succeeded by the Grand Army of the Republic.
