Jedi Master Rend Arcturius. Veteran fighter in this little war that we wage. A stalwart member of the Triumvirate Subversive Intelligence Service. A man whose record when it comes to engaging my troops ranks among the most… annoying.

Rend Arcturius was a Human male Jedi Master of the New Jedi Order. When dark side warlord Raixan Fauth launched a conquest of the galaxy, Arcturius was one of the first to act against him, allying himself with the Triumvirate Subversive Intelligence Service alongside his Padawan, Anhri Claynes. He became quite famous among Fauthian forces for his various daring raids against their operations and infrastructure, leading to his death becoming a major priority in the fleet. Upon learning of his apprentice's discovery of the Aranyan holocron, he agreed with her assumption that it could change the course of the war and travelled with her and a small contigent of stormtroopers on a shuttle towards the planet itself. There, they were ambushed by Fauth's fleet, lead by the Ziz, and Arcturius agreed to sacrifice himself, allowing Anhri to escape to the planet's surface while he delayed Fauth himself, leading to his capture and imprisonment.
He was later rescued by his Padawan during the subsequent blockade of the planet, aided by the native Calen Solayr, his astromech droid, and the hyperspace explorer Skyric Worrsayn. Sensing the latent Force-sensitivity in the young peddler, Rend worked alongside Anhri to provide him with some basic training aboard the starship Kitehawk. Arriving on the SIS main world of Hideaway, Arcturius and his group lead the assault on the Dread Crown superweapon during the battle that followed. In the midst of their assault to destroy the weapon, Arcturius was confronted by Fauth one last time, with the warlord deeming the Jedi Master the first one worthy to see his lightsaber. The two fought a duel, that ended with Arcturius being overpowered and slain in view of his two apprentices. His own lightsaber would be used by the young Solayr in order to briefly overpower General Saedus in their own battle.
Following his death, Arcturius would reappear several times as a Force ghost, assisting his two former students in their later struggles.
Biography[]
Early years[]
Born on an unidentified planet that was located somewhere within the Mid Rim, Arcturius was scouted and found to be Force-sensitive from a very young age, and was promptly recruited into the New Jedi Order. Rising at a moderate rate through the ranks, Rend was taught by two different Masters due to varying circumstances, and later found himself promoted to the level of Jedi Knight. Operating on his own for a good deal of time, Arcturius was partial to missions within the Outer Rim territories, Wild Space, and even the Unknown Regions, wanting to help those out there who received less aid from the Galactic Federation Triumvirate than other worlds, those closer to the Core Worlds. However, he was occasionally called back in order to work in more Coreward assignments, if only for the sake of balance.
It was on one of this assignments, to the wealthy and propserous world of Chandrila, that he would meet his future apprentice. Sent to break up what were believed to be a group of domestic terrorists, he was travelling through the city of Emita when a young girl attempted to steal his lightsaber. Managing to stop the act with some amount of ease, he briefly interrogated her and discovered that her name was Anhri Claynes, a thief who by and large operated on her own and supported herself via her thefts. Intrigued but frustrated by her continued attempts to pickpocket him, Rend ended up taking her with him on his assignment, being careful to keep her out of the way of any fighting and discovering that she herself was Force-sensitive in the process. Earning her trust and respect, as well as vice versa, during the mission, when it was concluded he offered to take her back to Coruscant with him, in order to be trained as a Jedi herself. Accepting somewhat reluctantly, she would later take up the role of his Padawan, and the two would work together on a variety of assignments throughout the following years, once more focusing on the outlying parts of the galaxy. They formed an effective team, managing to deal with several small crises and minor events without any real problems. Discovering that Anhri had a large interest in the Order's history, Rend encouraged her to study it while not allowing her to neglect on her physical fighting capabilities, training her into a potential Jedi Sentinel. As time passed and he grew older, Arcturius noted the more headstrong and brash Knight of his youth being replaced with a wiser and more contemplative counterpart, and eventually was promoted to the rank of Jedi Master by Grand Master Ha Seon.
He became friends with intelligence operative Kyren Zath at some point, and would eventually become one of the main supporters of the Triumvirate Subversive Intelligence Service's formation.
