The Redeemer was a cathedral ship created by the Galactic Republic during its Pius Dea Era. Like its thousands of sister ships, the Redeemer was used to spread the Pius Dea faith throughout the galaxy and forcibly pacify those planets and species which refused to submit. The Redeemer was infected with the same navicomputer virus created by the Bureau of Ships and Services which afflicted many other cathedral ships, and at the Battle of Uquine, it randomly launched into hyperspace, losing its communications equipment, sublight engines, and hyperdrive control in the process.
Unlike most cathedral ships, however, the Redeemer reverted to realspace in the Void of Chopani. Unable to move or call for help, its crew slowly starved over the ensuing weeks. When the last crew member died, the Redeemer was left adrift.
9,582 years later, First Forn located the ship. Supreme Modality crews labored for months to restore power and life support; only when they had did crews begin attempting to recover the BoSS virus from the computers. Valin Aresh himself came aboard to oversee the work with his apprentice, Aldayr Nikodon, keeping a light flotilla of picket ships nearby to detect any enemy craft. Before the virus could be reassembled, Mali Darakhan led a mission aboard, killing Aresh and detonating a nuclear bomb which completely destroyed the Redeemer.
