The Rampart was an Imperial I-class Star Destroyer produced by Kuat Drive Yards. Originally in the service of the Galactic Empire, it was "liberated" through unknown means by Arba the Hutt and given as a gift to Tak Sakaros in exchange for his rescue of the Hutt gangster on Nar Shaddaa.
After the Yuuzhan Vong War, the Rampart went to the Denarii Nova with the rest of Tak's fleet. It was refitted with a slave-rig system and configured to allow droid control of most of its operations. Departing only occasionally, such as the battle at Naboo to repel the forces of the Sith pretender Teeron, it remained largely in stasis until 87 ABY. In that year, Rin Sakaros dueled and defeated her father and claimed the fleet for herself.
Now part of the Armada of the newly formed Golden Empire, the Rampart participated in several early campaigns and fought extensively in the Great Liberation. Used thereafter as a command vessel or a weapon of intimidation, it saw comparatively little action aside from the Battle of Waldragos until 137 ABY, when it was in the Prime Fleet for the Conquest of the Chiss Ascendancy.
Initially assigned to the Prime Fleet during the Vagaari War, the Rampart became the flagship of the Umdal Legate Sorrik when he went south to repulse the Ssi-ruuvi Incursion. Rin Sakaros also dwelled aboard, and the Rampart saw several engagements, including one at Zorabos. The alliance between the Golden Empire and the P'w'ecks was sealed aboard the Rampart.
The Rampart returned to the Prime Fleet and participated in the decimation of the Vagaari. During the Nightmare War six years later, it remained with the Prime Fleet as the primary support ship to the Sith Star.
