I sense an unusual amount of fear.
—Qui-Gon Jinn during the Invasion of Naboo

Qui-Gon Jinn was a Human Jedi Master during the Invasion of Naboo. He was once the padawan of Jedi High Council member Dooku and was the master of three Padawans, including Xanatos and Obi-Wan Kenobi. Xanatos tried to assassinate Qui-Gon, but the attempt was foiled by the rejected padawan Obi-Wan. After the attempt was over, Kenobi became the apprentice of Qui-Gon, resulting in Qui-Gon earning a seat on the council next to his master. Kenobi would grow up to be a Jedi Knight and would still accompany Qui-Gon on missions, such as the Invasion of Naboo.

Biography[]

Early Life[]

Qui-Gon was taken into the order as an infant. He would become a Jedi Master with the training of Jedi Council Member and Jedi Master Dooku. Qui-Gon trained a young Jedi named Xanatos, who would later leave the Jedi Order. After Xanatos left the Order, Jinn fell into a trap set by his former apprentice in 39 BBY. Rejected Padawan, Obi-Wan Kenobi, saved Qui-Gon and foiled the attack. Inspired by the events that just happened, Qui-Gon took Kenobi as his apprentice. Obi-Wan would grow up to be a successful Jedi Knight, but would still work with Qui-Gon on missions.

Invasion of Naboo[]

This is an odd play for the Federation.
—Qui-Gon to Obi-Wan upon seeing the invasion army

In 23 BBY, the Trade Federation had launched a massive invasion over the once peaceful planet of Naboo. Supreme Chancellor Finis Valorum had sent both Jinn and Kenobi to settle the conflict by settling the conflict with Neimoidian Viceroy Nute Gunray. They landed inside Gunray's personal control ship and were greeted by Protocol Droid TC-14. TC-14 showed the two ambassadors to the conference room, where Jinn and Kenobi privately discussed terms. Little did they know at the moment was that TC-14 told Viceroy Gunray that the ambassadors were two Jedi. TC-14 distracted the two buy offering them wine from Alderaan while Gunray dealt with them. As both Jedi clutched their wine glasses, Qui-Gon sensed an unusual amount of fear since Gunray was making them wait too long. All of a sudden, both Jedi dropped their glasses as they sensed the destruction of their ship, Radiant VII, along with its crew. Both Jedi ignited their emerald Lightsaber blades in a stance of defense. Qui-Gon realized that Dioxis gas was suddenly pouring into the rooms from the vents. The two held their breaths and deactivated their lightsabers just as the birds in the room dropped dead. Once the conference room doors opened, the two Jedi activated their blades once again and cut down the battle droids assigned to kill the Jedi. Qui-Gon and OBi-Wan headed for the doors to the bridge, in an attempt to capture Gunray. However, the doors were locked, which made things more difficult. Qui-Gon pierced his green blade through the door and tried to cut a hole to get in. The blast doors closed preventing Jinn from proceeding. He then tried to let his weapon burn through the door. Just before he breached the door, two destroyer droids showed up and forced the Jedi to retreat to the hangar. They stowed aboard separate ships and went down to the planet with the invasion party.

Personality and traits[]

Qui-Gon was a kind hearted Jedi full of wisdom and ideas. Having been trained by Dooku, Jinn grew up to be one of the many great Jedi in the Order. He was able to keep Obi-Wan in the Order and helped him become a successful Jedi Knight.

Powers and abilities[]

I don't sense anything.
—Qui-Gon's response to Obi-Wan's disturbance in the Force

Qui-Gon was an expert swordsman, he was trained by Cin Drallig, just like most Jedi.

Qui-Gon also was able to sense disturbances in the Force. When the Radiant VII was destroyed, he and Obi-Wan sensed it at the same time and sprung into action.
