Quai was a male Human who at various points in his life was a smuggler, starfighter pilot, droid mechanic, and treasure hunter.

History

Early history

Quai was born in 15 ABY in a crime-ridden city in the Mid Rim to a family of smugglers and scavengers that worked for the Hutt Clan. His father in prison throughout his childhood, Quai lived aboard his mother's freighter and helped her transport cargo for a shipping company, which occasionally had his mother carrying out smuggling runs; these runs, which sometimes ended in heated pursuits, often found the young Quai behind the controls of the freighter's laser cannon, and many times in jails across the Mid Rim throughout his teenage years. In his youth he also enjoyed various forms of illegal racing, such as pod-racing and swoop racing whenever he had the opportunity to.

Military service

At only sixteen years old, Quai's love for travel led him to enlist in the New Republic Starfighter Corps. Despite his young age, he quickly mastered the controls of the RZ-2 A-wing interceptor and saw numerous combat operations against Imperial remnants and crime syndicates across the galaxy. By only seventeen years of age, Quai became the youngest ace pilot to receive the Kalidor Crescent award. Throughout his brief service to the New Republic, Quai sustained several injuries, including a knee injury that required a cybernetic brace.

In 34 ABY, Quai was one of hundreds of New Republic pilots who deserted and joined the Resistance, a paramilitary group formed by esteemed politician Leia Organa to combat the fascist First Order. He participated in many space battles with the First Order over the following months, though soon after retired to pursue a civilian lifestyle.

Later activities

Wishing to pursue a civilian lifestyle, Quai was hired as a droid mechanic aboard a cargo ship captained by the expert droid mechanic Mubo. Early in his new job, however, an attack by the Guavian Death Gang on the ship left Quai stranded on the surface of Batuu. In his attempt to escape the planet, Quai battled through Guavian soldiers and eventually managed to slay the Guavian underboss Tara Rashin before commandeering one of the gang's freighters and fleeing the planet. After escaping, he took up treasure hunting as a career and spent the following years hunting down ancient artifacts.

Equipment

As a child and teenager, Quai wielded an LL-30 blaster pistol that previously belonged to his uncle.

While serving the New Republic and the Resistance, he wore the signature orange flight suit and K-22995B flight helmet and wielded a DH-17 blaster pistol. After retiring from military service he returned to casual wear and wielded a modified E-11 blaster rifle. He also sometimes used various gadgets, such as a visor with a heads-up display, a wrist mount that was linked to his visor, and a nicotine vaporizer that was modified to also act as a electro-shock prod.
