Qerriz was a male Verpine droid technician. As a young man, he helped fellow Verpine Zinik out of a few spots of trouble, after which Zinik became grateful to and protective of Qerriz. The two were hired by the Breld Syndicate as droid repair technicians, though they assisted with other technical matters as needed.
As pacifist as most Verpine, Qerriz enjoyed the Syndicate's paychecks, but was deeply troubled when he learned of the Crusaders' use of a Breld nuclear weapon at Galidraan, and the millions of civilian casualties that resulted. He decided to defect to the Republic; Zinik had no moral qualms about the bombs, but as a show of loyalty, stayed at the Syndicate's Tenara base to cover Qerriz's escape.
Qerriz reached the Hydian Way, but Darqyren Valt placed a bounty on his head, forcing him into hiding. He limped as far as Bogg 14, but was pinned down there by bounty hunters. He was rescued by Sorin Ruy'the's agents, but they were hounded throughout one of the moon's cities as Qerriz used the Verpine telepathic network to stay ahead of his pursuers. The Jedi Knight Tirien Kal-Di and his Padawan Narasi Rican reached Rozytch, who negotiated with Qerriz to take him into protective custody.
Before the Jedi could reach Qerriz, a mercenary company attacked his safehouse, and Qerriz was killed in the ensuing firefight. He had, however, provided details of the Tenara base to Sorin's people, who were able to get it offworld to Sorin before the destruction of Bogg 14, which ultimately facilitated the Republic's capture of the plant and Darqyren Valt.
