Q7-N9 often referred to as "Queeni," was a Q7-series astromech droid manufactured by Industrial Automaton prior to 22 BBY and modified by the Hutt Cartel.

Description[]

Q7-N9 had a spherical design. The upper hemisphere contained a red and silver/black dome, while the lower hemisphere housed a repulsorlift engine, which allowed Q7-N9 to get herself in and out of a V-wing fighter.

After the Hutt Cartel obtained a couple of V-wings, they modified the Q7s. Due to the higher cost of repairing the repulsorlifts of the series, Q7-N9 received a R4 model body but kept the Q7-style dome and programming.

Q7-N9 was a diminutive droid, standing 0.96 meters tall after her modifications. She rolled on three legs, one of which could retract into her body, and had a red and black domed head. Her white and red R4 body housed many arms, sensors, and other apparatuses.

History[]

Galactic Republic[]

The Q7-series astromech droid was an experimental astromech droid, designed specifically for use in the Galactic Republic's V-wing starfighters during the Clone Wars. Queeni was produced as any other Q7 unit, with a upper dome of the R2-series and for the lower part another dome making her under 1 meter in diameter.

Queeni started her service as just an ordinary Q7 droid aboard an Alpha-3 Nimbus-class V-wing starfighter. During the Clone Wars Queeni served in one of the numerous V-wing starfighter squadrons of the Republic Navy.

As the Galactic Republic was transformed into the Galactic Empire Queeni continued her service. First when the V-wing was replaced by the TIE series starfighter in the Imperial military, Queeni was phased out and ended up in the Hutt Cartel.

Hutt Cartel[]

After Queeni came in the possession of the Hutt Cartel, she was modified with a R4-model body due to the higher cost of repairing the repulsorlifts of the series. However to be able to man the V-wings in the future, she kept the Q7-style dome and programming. During one of the courier missions for the Cartel, the young and inexperienced pilot Richard Dune crashed the V-wing. Richard and Queeni were found by John Cassidy. After Cassidy Richard's debt —caused by the crashing of the V-wing— off to the Cartel, Richard and Queeni became crew members of the Stoke.

Cassidy Courier Services[]

As part of the Stoke she was alongside of Kli´ic and R3-E4 responsible for maintaining the ship. When Richard Dune became the captain of the of the Twin Sun —the second R10C Consular-class cruiser of CCS— became she the maintenance droid.

Personality and traits[]

Q7-N9 was programmed with selfessness, courage and loyalty. Possibly due to her memory never being erased or reprogrammed, had she more personality than average droids. Queeni was very loyal and courageous. Because she was designed for cambat, was't she afraid to fight when the situation demanded it. When forced into combat Queeni held her own by using her wide variety of aftermarket mechanial features.
