A predorate, known in the Sith language as a mrâdorûtin,[1][2] was a type of krato-magocratic system-state unique to the residents of the former Infinite Empire fortress world of Mure. As the name implied, predorates were ruled by powerful (occasionally Force-sensitive) individuals titled predors in reference to the Rakata warlords of the Pax Rakata.[3]

The predorate system of government arose during the Infinite Empire's fall in 25,200 BBY.[4][5] Unable to make use of their Force-powered technology due to a Force plague that stripped them of their Force-sensitivity,[6][7] many Rakata found themselves stranded on their isolated colony worlds. While Rakata predors were not generally restricted to specific locales,[3] the Predor Osraa found himself unable to leave Mure and decided to make the best of his situation. Organizing his followers into the First Predorate of Mure, he established a microcosmic system of government based on that of the greater Empire that continued in one form or another for many millennia after his death.
