Over the course of Galactic history, many eras have passed. Many factions have ruled and many empires have fallen. But the core has been at the center of all of it. Now, with my new order, I will give Galactic reign to the worlds of the Outer Rim. We will claim what is rightfully ours. A new era begins today!
—An excerpt from Darth Cynicus' Outer Rim Manifesto

The Postcentral Era was a period of Galactic history that lasted from 192 ABY to 347 ABY. During this time, the Sith Lord Darth Cynicus used twisted tactics of manipulation to force the planets of the Outer Rim into full-blown war with the Core Worlds. This era saw the downfall of the Galactic Federation Triumvirate, the rebirth of the Sith, and a horrible period of tensions in the Galaxy that led to multiple wars. Darth Cynicus started and commandeered this period of unrest until his death in 257 ABY. Then, power over the Outer Rim Confederation transferred to one of his apprentices, Darth Ghor. This chain of rule continued until the destruction of the Outer Rim Confederation and the reunification of the Galaxy at the hands of the Jedi and the Galactic Union.
