Phyne was a female Human Sith Acolyte at the Sith Academy on Korriban until she joins the Jedi Order during the Cold War.

Biography[]

Considered to be calm and compassionate, Phyne and her partner Teero served as acolytes in the academy during the time of the Cold War. They held a hostility toward Venrin who was very strong in the dark side. However, she was interested in meeting the Sith Warrior when she heard that the acolyte was summoned to meet with Darth Baras. As the Sith Warrior was about to meet Sith Lord, Phyne, along with Teero, and two unnamed acolytes stood in the corner to await and meet the acolyte. Knowing that Venrin was going to have the new Acolyte killed, Phyne and Teero offered their assistance to eliminate Venrin for the Sith Warrior instead receiving punishment. The Sith Warrior wasn't interested and refused to allow their help. Phyne and Teero decided to prove their skills to benefit the Sith Warrior and eliminating Venrin. As the Sith Warrior still refused to accept their offer and didn't want to hold back, Phyne, Teero, and the acolytes engaged the Sith Warrior in a lightsaber duel, in which they all lost. After Sith Warrior defeated them, Phyne believed that she and her group couldn't defeat Venrin since the Sith Warrior was much stronger. Phyne came to the point that she wasn't strong in the dark side, and decided to rethink the sith training.

At around 3,641 BBY, Mamit Gall and Barsen'thor went on a secret mission to rescue Kira Carsen and Nadia Grell when they were captured by the Sith Empire and were held prisoners at the academy. Phyne and Teero were present in the chambers when they were ordered by Lord Abaron to escort them to meet with Overseer Rance. Phyne was very polite to them which bugged her partner very much. When they were inside Rance's chambers, Mamit and Barsen'thor revealed themselves as Jedi and immediately killed the guards including the overseer in front of Phyne and Teero. Before Teero was about to engage the Jedi, Phyne told him to stop since she was amazed how strong they were in the Force. She wanted to know about the light side in which the Jedi decided that she and Teero should abandon the Sith, and join the Jedi Order. Phyne agreed to follow the ways of the Jedi, and pleaded with her partner to do the right thing as well. Teero smiled at her, and calmly agreed to her words. Together, Phyne and Teero were able to enter the prison cells, and defeat Jailer Knash in order for Mamit and Barsen'thor to rescue Kira and Nadia. After escaping the academy, Phyne and Teero were able to escape with the Jedi, and returned to Tython.

After arriving to the Jedi temple, Phyne and Teero were welcomed by Grand Master Satele Shan and her apprentices Eldon Ax and Shigar Konshi. Phyne was pleased and was ready to learn the ways of the Light side of the Force. She became the apprentice to Master Shan while her friend became the apprentice to Nikil Nobil. During her training, Phyne continued her studies in the Jedi temple and was able to pass the Trials of Knighthood where she became a Jedi Knight. Phyne became one of the most experienced Jedi in the temple since she was more calm and compassionate to control the anger, hate, and fear. Master Satele was very pleased and hoped to add her in the seat of the Jedi Council until she became a Jedi Master. However, when the Sith raided the Jedi temple, Phyne engaged several Sith troopers that were moving through the temple. She tried to search for Teero until she found his dead body. Phyne was upset, and was able to escape the Jedi temple. Phyne was able to to join with Mamit and a small group of Jedi that were moving towards the forest. Seeing that the Republic fleet was able to arrive and rescue many Jedi, the group moved on to signal a rescue until Avitla started to grow anger which drove her to the dark side after her friends Mennaus and Jerridan were killed in the attack. She wanted to avenge them with the dark side's power, but Phyne was able to disarm and use the Force to calm her down. Avitla was upset, but Phyne forgived her and said that anger and hate will not solve the problem to fight against the enemies of the light.

As the temple was destroyed, becoming ruins, Phyne and more than a thousand Jedi gather with the Galactic Republic, making their final stand against the Sith on Coruscant. As the fleet came out of hyperspace to attack the sith, Phyne and everyone onboard were the first to attack the Vitiate space Station. The Sith engaged the group in a lightsaber duel while the Republic fleet was able to overwhelm the Sith fleet and surround the station. During the battle, Phyne, Zonn, Morr, and Avitla engaged the Sith Lord Darth Howl. The four were outmatched against him, and they were all slain. Phyne was last one to die when the Sith Lord stabbed through the chest, but with a bright smile, she was able to stab him back. After killing the Sith Lord, Phyne was ready to die and become one with the Force.
